SEEING THE DOCTOR

New Procedure for ‘Book on the Day’ appointments as from 1^st November 2011

We will be able to offer both morning and some allocated appointment times in the afternoon when the phoneline is opened at the following times:

Monday - 8.00am, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 8.30am.

These allocated afternoon appointment times will only be offered once the morning session is full and there will still be some appointment slots available for those patients who phone in at 3.30pm.

We will trial this system for one month and then review the situation. Should you have any views, good or bad on this new system please let us know by completing a suggestion form which can be obtained from reception.

Dr Blinston Jones operates both Book on the Day and appointments surgeries. To see him during a book on the day surgery you need to phone in first. You will be able to do this up to 30 minutes before the surgery starts. We do stress however, that these are only approximate times as it is difficult to estimate the amount of time each consultation may take. Appointments may be booked in advance.

Dr Bryant operates mainly book on the day surgeries. To see him during a book on the day surgery you need to phone in first. You will be able to do this up to 30 minutes before the surgery starts. He holds an appointment surgery on alternate Tuesday mornings.

Emergencies It is always possible to contact a Doctor in an emergency. At certain times emergency care is provided by local Doctors'
co-operative, SEH LTD. Telephone the normal surgery number at any time and you will be told how to contact the emergency Doctor.

Visits If a patient is too ill to attend a surgery, a visit can be requested by telephoning reception, if possible by 10.30 am If a phone call to the doctor or Nurse can prevent an unnecessary visit, the best time to ring is between 11.30 and 12.00 noon.

New Patients The practice welcomes new patients who live within its area. Anyone wishing to register with the practice should contact reception. When you register, you will be offered an appointment for a registration medical examination, usually with the Practice Nurse.
